California is on fire

After getting 27 random texts/emails/phone calls/etc from friends and family wondering if I have survived the southern California fires, I realized I might want to broadcast to the world that I am indeed "okay." Megan and I live in the safe confines of the San Fernando Valley, pretty much the only place in the LA area that was unaffected by the fires.

The worst thing to happen to us was that Megan didn't have to go to school all week because Pepperdine closed on Monday and Tuesday and access to the school for the rest of the week was limited. So really, nothing bad has happened to us. I should probably knock on some wood or something right now, but the likelihood of the entire valley burning to the ground is rather slim.
