I wouldn't call this the most random thing that's ever happened to me, but it certainly could be filed under "Completely Unexpected." I spent some time over at the student apartments/dorms this morning installing a new computer lab for the building residents. As I was walking to the truck, I heard bagpipes being played. Having heard bagpipes being played on the street in Scotland, I knew this was the real deal and not a recording being blasted at full volume. I went searching for the source and to my surprise, it was a bus driver playing the pipes while he was on break.

His bus was parked at a stop and he was standing on the sidewalk belting out some tunes. I went over and talked to him for a few minutes and got some information about who I could contact about taking lessons. My wife is going to kill me when I tell her that I'm going to start taking bagpipe lessons, but it'll be totally worth it.

I hope you really do follow up on the lessons. You have always wanted to and there is no better time than the present.
My buddy Kevin plays the bagpipes and knows where to take lessons. Every Tuesday. Its actually pretty close to Brooksider.
